Position Overview

The Jewish Education Project seeks a full-time Grants Manager to join the Advancement Team in this new role to help the agency secure new funding from foundations and federations as we grow nationally. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, and working closely with program and fiscal staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the writing of a variety of grant applications, reports, and proposals, as well as maintaining grant data, processes and materials related to foundation and federations funders and prospects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organized individual who is interested in the nonprofit or philanthropic sectors and is seeking to advance their career. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, prepare, and review grant proposals and reports for submission to funders under the guidance of the Director of Institutional Giving.
  • Assemble supporting documentation including budgets and program descriptions.
  • Maintain grant database and a regular calendar of report submission milestones and deadlines.
  • Research current and new foundation sources of support; identify potential funders in support of new and ongoing agency programs and projects.
  • Other organizational responsibilities as needed.
     

Experience, Qualifications, and Competencies

  • Candidates with diverse cultural, educational, and experiential backgrounds are urged to apply.
  • 3+ years of development, grant writing or related experience.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based grants management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Detail oriented with great organization skills to multi-task and effectively manage time.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
  • Takes initiative, as appropriate, and can work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Protect sensitive information by maintaining the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to The Jewish Education Project’s mission
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of grants management and philanthropy a plus.

  • Competitive salary in the range of $65,000-80,000 depending on experience
