We strive for excellence through innovation.

We believe in creating bold new ideas and leading our community through both real-world experience and current research, both Jewish and general. We strive for excellence in what we do and how we do it. We hold ourselves to high standards while staying open to learning from mistakes, as Einstein said, "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new."
“Boldly Pouring Awe”
Explanation of our artwork and process:
Innovative change is bold. It can disrupt the status quo and create anew. We strove to visually depict the innovation process through our piece titled, “Boldly Pouring Awe” a visual representation of our agency's fifth value, “We Strive for Excellence Through Innovation.” Our piece was inspired by the Jewish concept of Shevirat HaKeilim* – the shattering of the vessels and contains a large shattered vessel as the primary image. The vessel is being struck by the power of The Jewish Education Project. With that strike there is significant loss, visually represented by the torn paper. Yet also with that strike there is awe, there is newness there is innovation that pours out of the vessel creating something that the world had never seen before. This piece seeks to show that with change there is both loss and glory. Just as the vessel tilts forward, creating a sense of uneasiness and groundedness simultaneously, we don’t move forward without being willing to fail. We had originally intended to use broken glass to represent the brokenness and fractured nature of Shevirat HaKeilm. Due to timing, the glass was unable to be included. The piece transformed into a piece of process art. We knew that we wanted there to be texture and something to ground the vessel that transitioned it from brokenness and awe. Out of a moment of frustration it became evident that ripping paper could help us reach our goal in a new and innovative way. It was not part of our initial plan, but being able to examine our goals, take risks and try something new and bold enabled the completion of the visual representation of this value.
