Summer Resources For Teachers

Summer Resources For Teachers

As we count down the last few teaching days you may be beginning to think about summer professional development opportunities. We have compiled a list of resources to share with you.

Conferences:

Conferences are a great way to learn, explore, and network. Conferences can be costly. Check out the Tech with Tech Conference which is an online conference with free and freemium offerings.

If you are attending this year’s ISTE  conference in Philadelphia remember to say hello to DigitalJ’s Tatyana Dvorkin! Some of our featured educators from the DigitalJ Educators Spotlights and workshop presenters from Mercava and JiTap will be presenting at The Jewish Day School Educational Innovators Summit as well.

Webinars:

Webinars are a great resource for educators to learn on their own. The community of edWeb has webinars on many different tech topics and different technology communities. All of their webinars are archived and available all year round. If you are looking for app specific webinars check out the app’s website for in their learn section, there you will usually find great resources available for free. Monica Burns from classtechtips.com is running a summer webinar series on the app Book Creator.

Podcast:

Podcasts are great to download to your device and listen to while you are sitting at the beach. Three podcast series we recommend:

Books:

Looking to explore a specific ed tech topic this summer. Grab a book off this list from ISTE to bring to the beach or on your summer adventure.

Certifications:

Summer is a great opportunity to brush up on your skills and become certified educators. Check out certification options available in many of the apps and tech tools you are currently using like Google, BrainPop, and Flipgrid.

Wishing you a summer filled with learning and fun in the sun!

Monica Brandwein is the Educational Technology Consultant for DigitalJLearning.
